In order to establish a fish breeding center in Shishkhed, Renchinlkhumbe Sum, Khuvsguli Province, research was carried out to determine the composition of fish species, the biological and hunting resources of the main species, reproductive potential, and distribution.&nbsp;Also, the selection of equipment and research tools for the fish breeding center with a capacity of 400,000-500,000 Jaramgai fish was made, research buildings, laboratories, researchers' housing, infrastructure sources and network technical designs were developed and investments were calculated.

Environment

The "Orkhon-Ongi" eco-project to increase the flow of the Ongi River covered the territory of 9 sums of 3 provinces located in the Ongi and Orkhon River basins. Water transfer facilities for the restoration of the Ulaan Lake, the population of the South Gobi mining, heavy industrial area, agriculture and mining industry are comprehensively planned. Within the &nbsp;project, the hydrological survey of the Orkhon and Ongi Rivers, water balance calculation, and surface water flow survey were completed.

Within the project, in order to protect the ecosystem of Terkhi Tsagaan Lake, it is planned to build 65.9m and 71.9m overflow low-tide concrete port and 65.9m wide threshold spillway to increase the water level of the current lake by 1m. Also, a flood protection dam, a road drainage, and a stone-lined channel were planned.

Within the "Onon Ulz" project, to increase the flow of the Ulz River was developed technical feasibility study. In this study a water transfer facility will be constructed 2 km away from the Onon River, and works related to adjust the flow by contsruction a reservoir a Tee port with a length of 670m, a height of 9m and a volume of 27.0 million cubic meters on the Ulz River were developed.

Within the improve of the Ogiinuur Lake ecosystem, an 8.9 km long water channel from the Orkhon River and increase the flow of the Old Orkhon River, a 21.3 km long protective strip around the Ogiinuur Lake, sanitary facilities, parking, bird watching tower and shed etc., were developed.

This plan was developed within the framework of the consultancy service titled “Updating/Revising and Approving the Buir lake–Khalkh river basin management plan in alignment with climate change, risks, and vulnerability”, implemented under the “Improving Adaptive Capacity and Risk Management of Rural communities in Mongolia (ADAPT project)” (ADAPT Project) by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In accordance with Vision 2050 and the New Recovery Policy, the Integrated Water Resources Management Plan for the Buir Lake–Khalkh River Basin will be implemented over a total of six years until 2030 in two phases: 2025–2027 and 2028–2030. The 5 main thematic areas of domestic water supply, agricultural water use, industrial water use, environmental water, and the institutional environment for basin water management include the 5 strategic objectives and 17 operational objectives that have been established within the framework of the basin's integrated water resources management plan. A preliminary estimate of the required budget and investment has been identified, along with a total of 33 measures and 97 actions to accomplish these goals.
